Short Term Mission Trips

Churches have asked how they might help us by visiting us in Zambia and doing a Short Term Missions Trip.

Here are some ideas of possible trips. Please contact us to see if one of these trips might be possible for you as well as for more information about how to plan your trip.

Help us Move

We must move from the home we are currently renting into another home at the end of December 2008 or early January 2009. Some tasks we need help with are:

	Unpacking our metal containers
	Setting up an office
	Plumbing repairs
	Electrical wiring
	Cleaning & setting up a home

Tabernacle Evangelism

In partnering with local churches you team can help build a permanent church building for Zambian congregation. Only the metal roof and the concrete supports are erected. The remainder of the building must be finished by the local people.

This trip is combined with evangelism and outreaches to the local community. Participants get to partake in the deduction of the new partially done building on the last Sunday. Tasks include:

	Concrete work
	metal work
	Outreaches to local community through youth or children's events

Video Production

We need one or two people who can come and film our work and make several promotional DVDs that we can send to encourage our partners. We hope to have the dedication of the first book of the Bible in the Soli language soon and this would be a good topic to show the joyous celebration of the Soli people receiving God's Word for the first time. A three minute, five minute and 10 minute script would need to be written and produced.

Missionary Center Construction

Help a partner organization, Pro-Christo, build their new Missionary Center. Land has been donated and block walls are now being built. Pro-Christo's headquarters in Zambia is located 2 and a half hours north of Lusaka, Zambia's capital city.

Pro-Christo shares our vision of Bible Translation and have invited us to teach at their present location. Tasks include in this missions trip would be:

	Laying block walls
	construction of roof
	plumbing
	electrical
	Finishing
	Concrete floors

Computer Help

We need one or two people with computer experience to come to Zambia to help us and the missionary community with our computer needs. We have been given donated computers that need repair before they can be used by Bible Translation projects.

Other things you may help with are reviewing anti-virus and security issues and general software and hardware problems. Being able to network several computers in a home office is also something we need help with.

Taabua New Testament Distribution in the DR Congo

Our partner organization, Pro-Christo, is rebuilding a boat on the southern tip of Lake Tanganyika, in northern Zambia. They need lots of help in outfitting this boat. One of the uses of the boat will be to distribute the Taabua New Testament.

Two community schools in Kabwe

There are many opportunities to help two community schools in the city of Kabwe, north of the capital city Lusaka. A few ideas are to help in building a playground and kitchen to helping children with health issues.
